Helping Spread The Message of Substance Abuse Prevention!

The mission of DeKalb Community Promise is to utilize all resources, including data collections in our targeted communities to effectively provide prevention programs, intervention and/or treatment when appropriate, and to promote substance abuse prevention.

We are a Drug Free Community Coalition funded in part by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMHSA) whose mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America’s communities.

Results from extensive community data collection directed us to provide programs and strategies to address underage drinking and underage marijuana use in Lithonia and Decatur, Georgia. Youth and teens in these communities are using alcohol and marijuana at an alarming rate and thus putting themselves in serious danger.

We encourage parents to visit our site and contact us for information about illegal alcohol and drug use among youth and teens and to talk to their children about the dangers of underage drinking and underage marijuana use.

If parents need help in talking to their children or to receive a free home drug testing kit, we encourage you to contact us.
