Beyond The Bell was formed in 2002 to provide after school and summer enrichment programs for at-risk children and youth. The agency was founded by Sandra Dean who saw the need in the Lithonia and Decatur community children and youth to have a safe and healthy place to spend time outside of school.

The mission of C.A.U.S.E. is to form an alliance of individuals and organizations seriously committed to the healthy growth of our communities. By being actively involved, C.A.U.S.E. seeks to identify and/or provide necessary resources and programs aimed at the advancement of families and the enrichment of communities.

 

THE CHAMPION NEWSPAPERChampion Newspaper Logo Dekalb Partner

The Champion Newspaper is the Legal Organ of DeKalb County. Reaching 20,000 readers a week, Beyond The Bell and The Champion partnered to reach the local county to inform residents of regular happenings and to deliver the most up-to-date information about what is happening in regards to underage drinking in the community.

This agency supports all of our efforts to help make the communities healthy and safe.

 

DEKALB JUVENILE COURTSDekalb Juvenile Court Logo Dekalb Partner

DeKalb Juvenile Courts works closely with DeKalb Community Promise and its partners to provide early intervention and prevention programming to youth and families. Under the DFC grant efforts, DeKalb Community Promise is providing marijuana specific training to parents of both court-mandated youth and the general public.

 

DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIESDBHDD Logo DeKalb partner

DBHDD has been an important partner in funding Beyond The Bell and building the DeKalb Community Promise Coalition. Beyond The Bell first received funding for the now finished SPFSIG grant back in 2009 and is currently funded by the GASPS grant, both of which utilize the Strategic Prevention Framework.

Flat Shoals United Methodist Church’s partnership with Beyond The Bell on an ongoing basis for the usage of space for meetings and working meetings for staff and volunteers.

 

GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF LABORGeorgia Department of Labor Dekalb Partner

The Georgia Department of Labor, in collaboration with the Decatur Career Academy, provides youth with the leadership and volunteer opportunities through classes and organized club activities. The Career Association Club partners with Decatur Prevention Initiative  during Homecoming and Red Ribbon Week activities. They also work closely with the after-school academic program held at the Decatur Housing Authority. They provide feedback during focus group sessions and help drive the selection of prevention strategies for the community.

 

NOT MY KIDDekalb Not My Kid Logo

Not My Kid is a  new partner to DCP. Their Mission: Not My Kid seeks to empower and educate youth, families, and communities with the knowledge and courage to identify and prevent negative youth behavior.

 

OFFICE OF PREVENTION AND FAMILY SUPPORT DIVISION OF FAMILY AND CHILDREN SERVICESGeorgia Division of Family and Children Services Dekalb partner

This project provides resources for the Positive Parenting Program and the Triple P curriculum.

 

PAT BACCUSPat Baccus DeKalb Partner

Pat Baccus Radio airs on Future Movement Radio 1420 AM WATB and 1430AM WGFS 1pm-6pm on Monday – Friday and 10am-1pm Saturday. As partners, Pat Baccus and  Beyond The Bell have been very positive in getting the word out to the community that Beyond The Bell and DeKalb Community Promise are here to stay!

Rockdale’s mission is to reduce and prevent youth substance use/abuse by increasing community collaboration, engage youth in pro-social activities, provide education, training and leadership support to parents, youth businesses and individuals in the Rockdale community.
